Kaasuttoman langan ansiosta hitsauskone ei tarvitse erikseen kaasupulloa eikä paineensäädintä. Kaasuton täytelanka soveltuu ns. mustille teräksille: ohuet sähkösinkityt ja seostamattomat teräkset. Lanka hitsataan miinus (-) navalla. Soveltuu erinomaisesti pienille valovirtatoimisille MIG/MAG-hitsauskoneille.
